Happy Friday + Picnic at the edge

Not our usual Friday. This time we woke up bright and early. We are going for a picnic with friends on top of a mountain called Jebel Jais in here RAK. It’s just a few minutes drive away from our home.

That’s Papa and Potpot, with Mr. Sun just peeking from behind them.

We got a customized “I Can’t Keep Calm” T-shirts for each family.

After a little over 30 minutes of winding road and sharp turns, we arrived at the destination. It’s really just the end of road construction, some 4 wheel drive passed by and went further up.

This is at the edge of the ledge where he set up camp. The view is breath taking.

We had a tent, a portalet, a grill and tons of food.

Facepalming my self for not taking pictures of the food we brought. Bing made linugaw (in Ilonggo, Binignit or Bilobilo elsewhere) and it was delicious! There was empanada, chocolate cupcakes, carne prita, spaghetti, grilled chicken and pork. Yum.

Potpot is a happy camper! For the rest of us, photo opps everywhere.

Meditating on an “almost” empty road.

Customary jump shot. Pardon the PUPA. =D

Beautiful girls abound.. and then there is me.

The muni-muni shots.

Then just plain silliness, really.

My powerful sonic boom.

With some hard core bikers.

Spectacular really.

Good Friends, Good Food, Good Times.

And Potpot even managed to take a nap!

Happy weekend for us OFW. I am thankful that I have my family with me and I am blessed with such good friends and company.
